General Instructions (Mac & Windows)
Request a Crashplan account by contacting SoE Tech Services at [email protected]. Your account is usually ready the next business day
Navigate to https://console.us2.crashplan.com/app/#/console/app-downloads and login with your [email protected] as your email address. (Please note, you cannot use a [email protected] to login) and download the appropriate client for your operating system. Choose the most-recent version of the Crashplan client.
After you save the OS-Specific installer, run it locally to install the client on your Laptop/Desktop
If you are on a Mac, the installer will direct you to change an additional security setting to enable “All Disk Access”.
Sign in to Crashplan from the client. Please note, the Crashplan client is still labeled “Code42” and has the following logo
Use your [email protected] as the username
Use clients.us2.crashplan.com as the server address
If you have entered the appropriate information, a web-browser window will appear and ask you to login with UCI’s Webauth page.
Done. After you have signed in, you should see some status information about your backup. Depending on how much data you have and how well connected you are, it can take hours to days for the first backup to complete. Backup is continuous after that.
