Guidelines for combining in-person and remote instruction

This is a basic guide for instructors to get up and running with a blend of in-person and remote learning in a typical general assignment classroom. Specific room guides can be found in each room.


Apple TV

    2010

    2009

Zoom

  1. Sign in to classroom computer

  2. Launch Zoom from the desktop

  3. Start or Join meeting

  4. Adjust Camera as needed 

    1. 2001, 2024: Adjust ceiling and wall mounted cameras using remote controls in drawer on left of podium.

    2. All other rooms: Camera tripod can be repositioned, microphone is built in to front of camera.


Showing content from another device (e.g. laptop)

After starting Zoom on classroom computer: 

  • Join the same meeting from your other device

  • Do not connect audio (microphone or speakers)

  • Use the “Share Screen” button in bottom center.




Document Camera

With Zoom

  1. Switch Document Camera on, with power switch near bottom.

  2. In Zoom, Click “Share Screen”

  3. Click the “Advanced Tab” 

  4. Select “Content from Second Camera”


Without Zoom

  1. Launch “IPEVO Visualizer” from the Desktop.


Notes

  • When done using the document camera, turn off via the power switch near the bottom of the camera.

  • Room Lights may reduce document visibility. Reducing room lighting may help increase document visibility.

  • On ELMO models, use Input Button until “USB” is selected to use on computer.




Microphone

Room 2001

  • For gooseneck microphone:

    1. Push button on base of gooseneck. Green light = ON.

  • For lapel clip: 

    1. Locate SHURE microphone in the bottom right cabinet.

    2. Switch microphone “on” from the body pack, and wear the lapel clip.

    3. When done, switch microphone off, and return device to charging dock.


Room 2005

  • No microphone system


Room 2009

  1. For gooseneck microphone:

    1. push to button on base of gooseneck. Green light = ON.

  2. For lapel clip: 

    1. SHURE microphone is in the bottom right drawer, in a zippered bag.

    2. Switch microphone “on” from the body pack, and wear the lapel clip.

    3. When done, switch microphone off, and return body pack and clip to SHURE zippered bag and drawer.


Room 2010

  1. For gooseneck microphone:

    1. Push to button on base of gooseneck. Green light = ON.


Room 2024

  1. For gooseneck microphone:

    1. Push button on base of gooseneck. Green light = ON.

  2. For lapel clip: 

    1. Locate SHURE microphone in the bottom right cabinet.

    2. Switch microphone “on” from the body pack, and wear the lapel clip.

    3. When done, switch microphone off, and return device to charging dock.
